Mine blast: How the Pike River rescue will work
-
Mine entrance

Reported in the news
-
By Hamish Fletcher and Peter Griffin
Rescuers will face a number of challenges as they work towards accessing the area where 29 coal miners are believed to be trapped.
The space where the men are trapped is not a vertical shaft like the one where the Chilean miners were trapped.
The Pike River mine is accessed by a tunnel which enters the side of the hill at a slight incline, about 2 to 2.5 kilometers in length. The rest of the mine then burrows up inside the hill.
From the top of the hill there is a ventilation shaft where fresh air is being sucked into the main mine, however the miners will come out the main access tunnel.
"The vertical distance [from the surface] is only 120 meters, but that is not the way [the miners] would look to get out of the mine," said Pike River CEO Peter Whittall.
Rescue procedure
Outlining the rescue procedure, Pike River chairman John Dow said tests still need to be done to ensure the air mixture in the mine is not explosive.
"The composition of air mixture needs to be evaluated to make sure there's no risk of a second explosion," Mr Dow said.
It was hoped these tests could be done by air, however helicopters cannot land at the entrance to the mine because of the thick cloud.
This means tests may have to be done by officials on the ground who have to traverse rough terrain to get to the top of shaft.
Mr Dow said it will take at least two to three hours to get to the vent.
From there they will need to collect samples from deep down the ventilation shaft before officials can be certain it is safe for a team to move in, Mr Dow said.
Experts and equipment have been flown in from Australia to assist with the gathering and testing of air samples.
Mr Dow said the rescue team is waiting at the mine enterance to move in.
When they get the all clear, rescuers will enter through the main tunnel on foot, as there is already a vehicle in the shaft which could block traffic.
Once rescue staff enter the mine, Mr Dow says they will first need to establish a fresh air base for themselves, which is a safe point where they know they will be able to breathe safely.
"From there [the team] can foray into other parts of the mine to search and remove our employees and friends that are in there," Mr Whittall said.
Volatile methane
Methane goes hand in hand with coal as the two are formed together, the methane trapped in coal seams or the surrounding rock strata. How much methane exists depends to some extent on the geological pressures, but as mining activity takes place, the pressure is reduced and methane gas can be released, as this explanation of methane in the mining context shows:
"In underground mining, methane is released into the mine workings during mining. Mining regulations require methane to be diluted in the ventilation air, and then vented to the atmosphere. Mines can also remove methane before and during mining by using degasification systems. The gas can be vented, flared (not currently done in the U.S.), or recovered for its energy content. Emissions are reduced if recovered gas is flared or used."
How dangerous is methane? Well, that depends on what concentration it is present in. The US Occupational Safety and Health Administration explains further:
[Methane is] an odourless substance that is nontoxic and is harmless at some concentrations. Methane, however, can displace all or part of the atmosphere in a confined space(1); and the hazards presented by such displacement can vary greatly, depending on the degree of displacement. With only 10 percent displacement, methane produces an atmosphere which, while adequate for respiration, can explode violently.
A lot of science and research has gone into estimating how much methane is likely to exist in different kinds of mines, coming up with ways of extracting it and evolving technology to detect dangerous levels of methane in mine shafts.
Ventilation shafts are common features of underground mines and Pike River was employing ventilation as a safety measure at its mine. However, it is a tricky business estimating and managing methane levels in mine shafts, as faults in rock can become conduits for methane from other geographically removed sources. This paper outlines the potential for "unforeseen mine gas emissions in quantities sufficient to create hazardous conditions".
Coal dust and the "explosion pentagon"
The other potentially explosive hazard in coal mines is a buildup of coal dust. This hazard is as old as mining itself and has been responsible for countless deaths since the 19th century. Working at coal seams with industrial equipment throws up a large amount of dust, which if not properly extracted or appropriately dispersed can explode. OSHA again explains:
In addition to the familiar fire triangle of oxygen, heat, and fuel (the dust), dispersion of dust particles in sufficient quantity and concentration can cause rapid combustion known as a deflagration.
If the event is confined by an enclosure such as a building, room, vessel, or process equipment, the resulting pressure rise may cause an explosion. These five factors (oxygen, heat, fuel, dispersion, and confinement) are known as the "Dust Explosion Pentagon". If one element of the pentagon is missing, an explosion cannot occur.
In the confinement of a coal mine shaft, the conditions for coal dust combustion are obviously quite favourable.
By Hamish Fletcher and Peter Griffin

End of report;
As we all can see, this rescue is not easy, so, let us hope that it all turns out well.
Let us remember that, it is at times like this when we really should pray God for help.
May God help us!

Wars and their consequences.
The wars that should have never been.

Why wage war, humanity should look for peace?

-
In this post we would like to report those strange and bad things that conflicts bring, so, let me ask this questions; what has this war solved? I would say nothing. Now; what will the execution of Tariq Aziz solve? Nothing again, so it is time to think about peace.

Reported in the news;

Tariq Aziz: Saddam's dangerously loyal courtier
By John Simpson World Affairs Editor, BBC News
Tariq Aziz was Saddam Hussein's loyal courtier
It is not hard to detect a whiff of revenge in the Iraqi Supreme Court's decision to sentence Tariq Aziz, one of President Saddam Hussein's most loyal supporters, to death.
The accusation by his lawyer, Badee Izzat Aref, that the verdict is politically motivated, will no doubt be angrily dismissed by most Shia politicians in Iraq. But many Sunni politicians will agree, at least quietly.
Tariq Aziz's sharp brain and even sharper tongue made him a great many enemies.
When Saddam Hussein was overthrown by the US-led invasion of 2003, Aziz was one of the most hated of his officials.
There was a clear determination in parts of the dysfunctional administration headed by Paul Bremer to see that Tariq Aziz was charged with serious crimes, with the intention of hanging him.

There is little doubt that Aziz's success in winning support in the Arab world, in Russia, and other areas where hostility to the US-led invasion was strongest had made him a marked man.
Slowly, though, the US lawyers in Baghdad ceased to insist on his trial for the more serious crimes. But Iraqi lawyers still wanted him put on trial.
He was eventually charged over his supposed part in the execution of several dozen merchants in Baghdad and elsewhere for 'profiteering' - in other words, overcharging their customers.
'Saddam's front-man'
The court which tried him heard plenty of accusations that Aziz had argued for the execution of the merchants.
Tariq Aziz claimed he tried to dissuade Saddam Hussein from invading Kuwait
But there was no evidence that a Western court would regard as compelling that he had anything like final responsibility for the carrying out of the executions.
Five months afterwards he received a further seven-year sentence for what amounted to the ethnic cleansing of Kurds.
Again, it was clear that Tariq Aziz had strongly supported the policy. But there was no real evidence of his personal involvement and guilt.
His crime, essentially, was that he was Saddam's front-man, arguing publicly and cleverly for some of his worst policies.
The Iraqi opposition, like the Americans and their supporters, felt a particular hatred for him.
He was a strong supporter of violent action against Shia and other resistance groups - the crime for which he has been sentenced to death.
But again, it is hard to feel that final proof of his involvement in this kind of action was demonstrated.

“Start Quote
Many Iraqis will believe hanging a sick man of 74 will create sympathy for someone who scarcely deserves it”
End Quote
Tariq Aziz was Saddam Hussein's loyal courtier. If he had questioned his judgements, he would have died. This is not an argument for his innocence, but it does temper his direct responsibility for the policies he backed.
'Close to the edge'
Various former figures in Saddam's administration over the years have confirmed that in private, where he dared, Tariq Aziz tried to modify some of his master's views and decisions.
He himself has claimed that he tried to dissuade Saddam from invading Kuwait in 1990, and this seems to be true.
But he was always a dangerous figure, often close to the edge of savage violence.
In January 1991, in the early days of the first Gulf War, I met him in a hotel and started asking him questions he did not like. "If you ask me anything else," he screamed, "I shall have you liquidated". He was clearly capable of carrying out the threat.
Now, though, Tariq Aziz is an old man, broken in health. His execution would reflect badly on Iraq's system of justice, and on the growing influence of extremist Shia on the government.
The carrying out of the death sentence in Iraq in the last five years has not strengthened the country's reputation.
Many Iraqis will also believe that hanging a sick man of 74 will create sympathy for someone who scarcely deserves it.
-----------------
(End of report) There is no much to say, except that it makes anyone very sad.
Let us hope that they show some mercy and they do not execute Tariq Aziz.
I hope also that reason prevails and both sides start to think about how to reach peace talks.

Buy our own home
-

-
This is the dream that everybody dreams, we all want to own our own home, so that we can feel safe and proud, even if it is only a small place to start with.
In my previous post I just said that it is hard to buy a house, because their price goes up continually; however anybody that is serious enough and wants really to own a house have got to start somewhere.
Money this is the problem. Where do we find the money to buy a house?
Well you will never be able to buy a house if you do not have any money yourself.
So, if you have a job start saving some money, each time you get paid do not spend it all, just deposit whatever amount you can spare in a bank deposit, you will see that as the time goes by it will grow.
Ask some expert about how much money you need for a deposit before you get involved in buying your place. It is better to start with a small house, so that you may be able to afford repayments of your loan.
Every able person should try to buy their own house, it is worth the effort.
-
People often ask; should we rush and buy our own house now? before it becomes impossible to buy anything, because of price rise and the money interest rates still rising, what can we do?
-
My answer to that is; No, do not rush, buying a home is not that easy, just be preapared and work out what you can afford, then when your figures add up and you feel that you have a good chance to pay your loan, go ahead and buy it.
-
Just do not worry too much when the money market changes, it usually goes up and down, anyhow this is what was in the news;
-
TODAY
-
The Reserve Bank has followed up on its governor's warning to homeowners, by lifting official interest rates by 0.25 percentage points.

The move takes the official cash rate target to 4.25 per cent, and will move most major banks' standard variable mortgage rates above 7 per cent, provided they pass on the full increase.

RBA governor Glenn Stevens said while lenders had generally raised rates a little more than the cash rate, interest rates to most borrowers had been somewhat lower than average.

"The board judges that with growth likely to be around trend and inflation close to target over the coming year, it is appropriate for interest rates to be closer to average," Mr Stevens said in a statement.

Today I am going out of my usual way and post this post, which to some of you will seem to be a religious post, because it will talk about religious things; well to me this post hereunder is just another article of public interest, even though it is talking about the life of this nun Mary MacKillop; it is important to note that she was indeed a great spirit and did what she had to do, even tough she paid a high price for the just things that she did.
Anyhow let me just tell you what was reported in the web news:
-
Mary MacKillop
-
A new documentary about the life of Mary MacKillop claims she was excommunicated from the Catholic Church partly as revenge for helping to expose a South Australian pedophile priest.
The documentary for the ABC's Compass program claims sisters in MacKillop's Josephite order of nuns attracted the ire of a South Australian priest for telling authorities that a Father Keating, of Kapunda, was molesting children at the local church school.
The sisters reported the abuse to the vicar-general and disciplinary action was taken against Keating, humiliating him and angering a Father Charles Horan, who was close to the bishop of Adelaide, Bishop Shiel, Fairfax newspapers say.
Horan is believed to have harboured a grudge against MacKillop and the whistleblowers in her order, and used his influence over the bishop to manipulate him into throwing the nun out of the church in 1871. Bishop Shiel reversed the excommunication on his deathbed.
Father Paul Gardiner, a Jesuit priest and the chief postulator for MacKillop's sainthood, told the documentary makers that Bishop Shiel was "gaga" when he excommunicated the woman soon to become Australia's first saint. "She submitted to a farcical ceremony where the bishop was, I'm not sure you should use this word, gaga, but he had lost it and he was being manipulated by malicious priests," he said.
Keating was sent back to Ireland where he continued as a priest, the documentary says.
This is the first time the link between a pedophilia cover-up and MacKillop's excommunication has been exposed, Fairfax says.
The documentary airs on October 10, a week before MacKillop's canonisation in Rome.
(End of report)
-
Looking at the news these days one has to wonder why these pedophilia problems have not been addressed from the church? You see these pedophilia acts seem to have been there all the time. So the question arises, when is the Roman Catholic Church going to do something about it? Perhaps let the priest get married, so that they may satisfy their sex drive the normal ways?

Oceans on brink of mass extinction: study
Friday, 3 September 2010 Stephen Pincock
ABC

The study warns human activities are threatening to trigger a mass extinction event in our oceans (Source: Naomi Brookfield, file photo/User submitted)
Climate change, over-fishing and other human impacts have pushed the oceans to the brink of a mass extinction that could take tens of millions of years to recover from, an Australian scientist says.
Dr John Alroy from Macquarie University in Sydney has used the fossil record of the ocean, dating back more than 500 million years, to study how major changes in marine animal groups take place.
His work is published today in the journal Science.
In the course of the past 540 million years, marine animals have undergone several mass extinctions that saw dominant life forms suddenly replaced by others, he says.
For example, about 250 million years ago, species of animals known as lamp shells, which had dominated sea-beds, were suddenly replaced by clams and snails.
"The lamp shells were all over the place and diverse for a quarter of a billion years, then the biggest mass extinction in the history of life on earth happened - the Permian-Triassic extinction - and they went from being all over the place, to being rare and not very diverse."
Resetting the rules
Until recently, scientists had thought these extinction events were governed by the slow unwinding of predictable evolutionary "rules" that operated over hundreds of millions of years, says Alroy.
"What my paper shows is that that story is fundamentally wrong, in that it doesn't take into account the way a big evolutionary innovation or mass extinction can overturn the rules."
"The change in the balance of groups is not random. It's not that some groups have good luck and some have bad luck. There has actually been a resetting of the rules of evolution."
New order
Human activities such as over-fishing, the acidification of the oceans and the introduction of imported species are threatening to trigger another such event, Alroy warns.
"It's not just a mass extinction, but a massive reshuffling of species across the globe. We're simultaneously ruining the environment and selectively wiping out certain groups."
This combination of stresses threatens to leave ocean biodiversity devastated, he says. "Things are so bad right now in so many different ways it's very hard to imagine that you wouldn't have a big long-term overturn in the balance of groups."
The fossil record shows that the consequences of this kind of mass extinction can last for many millions of years.
"It will take tens of millions of years before there is a full recovery with respect to the number of species in the ocean and the balance of groups," Alroy says. "It will establish a new order that will persist for a very long time."

Combat climate misinformation

THIS BLOB HAS BEEN CREATED TO INVITE MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC WHO ARE WILLING AND ABLE TO TAKE PART IN USEFUL DISCUSSIONS, IN THE HOPE THAT WE WOULD BE ABLE TO HELP EACH OTHER SOLVE FUTURE PROBLEMS.

Manfraco Reconciliation Public
Combat climate misinformation

Election time in Australia, so it is time to let the politician know what needs to be done.

Report aims to combat climate 'misinformation'
By environment reporter Sarah Clarke

The statement says global emissions must peak within a decade and decline rapidly if dangerous climate change is to be avoided. (Reuters: Ilya Naymushin)
• Audio: Scientists unite in fresh warming warning (PM)
Some of the nation's top scientists have united in a new climate statement which issues fresh warnings about the dangers of global warming.
The statement released by the Australian Academy of Science is a first for the organisation and details the key evidence identified globally by climate scientists.
It says carbon emissions need to be cut by more than half by 2050 if there is to be a good chance of keeping temperature rises to less than two degrees.
It also says global emissions must peak within a decade and decline rapidly if dangerous climate change is to be avoided.
Kurt Lambeck from the Australian National University says current misinformation is confusing the public debate and the warnings need to be identified.
"It's because we've been concerned about the nature of the climate change debate in recent times," he said.
"We see the quality of the science improving with time but the debate seems to be degenerating in some ways."
Professor Lambeck says one of the reasons behind the degeneration is that the science is very complex.
"Climate science is really at the sort of intersection of a whole lot of basic science areas," he said.
"Now a lot of people understand elements of those basic sciences but they don't understand the complexities that occur when you try to put it all together.
"People get confused over those minor, what are essentially secondary issues and in that process the whole level of the debate degenerates."
Professor Lambeck says the complexity of the issue may be one reason both sides of politics seem to have shelved the issue of climate change.
"I suspect both sides find it hard to understand what they should be doing," he said.
"Some time ago the major parties both recognised that climate change was a real threat and that, you know, action needed to be taken.
"But we've lost that consensus between the two parties."
'Severe' impact
Professor Lambeck says the statement looks at global temperatures, which he says have increased by "about a degree" over the last century.
"A degree doesn't sound like very much but it appears that its impact on regional climate can be quite severe," he said.
"Now when I say one degree, that is the global average surface temperatures.
"There are parts of the globe that have been subjected to much larger changes in more recent times.
"Whether that's part of a long term trend or whether that's part of some of the natural variability or whether these are oscillations, that's something that we don't know yet because our records are too short."
Scientific questions
The statement makes the point that no scientific conclusion can ever be absolutely certain.
But Professor Lambeck does not think that leaves the conclusions open to sceptics and critics.
"The underpinning parts - the fact that CO2 is increasing, the fact that CO2 increases results in global temperature rises, the fact the CO2 has a long residence time in the atmosphere - these are facts that are extremely unlikely will ever be overturned by new information," he said.
"Where the scientific questions arise is in the feedbacks that occur between the various components.
"We're not totally clear on that and we may not have the right way to put that into our forecast.
"But these are factors that will affect the rate at which things will change.
"They're extremely unlikely to affect the change in direction of what we are observing."
The Greens say the report shows the major parties need to do more to deal with the threat.
Greens Senator Christine Milne says the big parties are acting as if climate change is not real.
"Both parties are trying to ignore climate change and this is big turnaround from 2007 when the Labor Party told Australians that it was a great moral imperative and they would act on it," she said.
"Part of the reason for that is the sceptics campaign that has been aided and abetted by Tony Abbott and the Coalition."
So now that the know people have spoken out will the politicians do anything better?

This report seem good news for old people

Sometime we need to look for good news, because it gives us hope for the future, as we all know nobody knows what is going to happen in the future, so it is good for us to hope, and for those who believe in God, it would be good if they hope and pray for a better future.
.
In the news I found this report;
.
A TREATMENT to halt Alzheimer's disease could be just five years away after a breakthrough by University of Sydney researchers.
The researchers claim they have isolated the cause of the brain-wasting disease in the interaction between two proteins in an otherwise healthy brain cell.
The university team managed to stop the interaction happening in mice genetically engineered to develop the disease by injecting a special protein into their brain using special implants.
"We have shown we can prevent the development of Alzheimer's, and that's never been done before," Professor Jurgen Gotz, of the university's Brain and Mind Research Institute, said.
"If we can prevent it developing, then there is hope we can find a cure."
None of the mice who were treated died, suffered memory loss or had seizures.
The breakthrough results - published in the international scientific journal Cell - offer hope to the 260,000 Australian Alzheimer's sufferers and their families.
Professor Gotz said the breakthrough was significant because it was the first time the development of the disease had been mapped. The protein was given to mice using implant pumps, he said.
Researchers are now working with pharmaceutical companies to further develop ways of administering the treatment for humans.
"What we have done in the laboratory has been extremely successful," Professor Gotz said. "The next step is to develop compounds that are easier to administer, either orally or intravenously.
"We could have treatment in five years because this is targeting the underlying biology of the disease, not the symptoms."
Without a cure, Professor Gotz said, families of Alzheimer sufferers, including his own, would continue to experience heartbreak.
"It's devastating to see how the personality is completely destroyed," he said.
The reasons why those who are susceptible to the disease contract it are still not known, Professor Gotz said, but it is believed some cases are linked to genetic factors.
Alzheimer's Australia NSW chief executive John Watkins said the group was guardedly optimistic about the findings, with the research having so far having been successful in mice.
"Although the research is in its early stages, it is the type of research that needs to be done so that we can find the cause, and hopefully the cure, to this terrible disease," he said.
Christine Fegan, of Mosman in Sydney's north shore, said her husband, Barry, 71, discovered he had Alzheimer's when he was 65.

She said any advance in treatment was wonderful news for families who had suffered as a result of a family member developing the condition.
"Obviously, it's going to take a long time until it's available to humans, but it would just be wonderful if Alzheimer's patients could recover some of their lives," Mrs Fegan said.
Her husband had begun showing symptoms when he was 60, but had been in denial.
"When his memory was failing, and he was making errors all the time, he just made our lives unbearable."

This article written below was in the news; I have to say that there was another article, which reported that humanity may be extinct in about 100 years.

So, what have we done to deserve that?
Can anything be done to return to normal?
If you have any ideas email us, we would like to know?

This is what was in the news today,

Could unbridled climate changes lead to human extinction?

2010-06-19 17:50:00

Scientists have sounded alarm bells about how growing concentrations of greenhouse gases are driving irreversible and dramatic changes in the way the oceans function, providing evidence that humankind could well be on the way to the next great extinction.
The findings of the comprehensive report: 'The impact of climate change on the world's marine ecosystems' emerged from a synthesis of recent research on the world's oceans, carried out by two of the world's leading marine scientists.
One of the authors of the report is Ove Hoegh-Guldberg, professor at The University of Queensland and the director of its Global Change Institute (GCI).
'We may see sudden, unexpected changes that have serious ramifications for the overall well-being of humans, including the capacity of the planet to support people. This is further evidence that we are well on the way to the next great extinction event,' says Hoegh-Guldberg.
'The findings have enormous implications for mankind, particularly if the trend continues. The earth's ocean, which produces half of the oxygen we breathe and absorbs 30 percent of human-generated carbon dioxide, is equivalent to its heart and lungs. This study shows worrying signs of ill-health. It's as if the earth has been smoking two packs of cigarettes a day!,' he added.
'We are entering a period in which the ocean services upon which humanity depends are undergoing massive change and in some cases beginning to fail', he added.
The 'fundamental and comprehensive' changes to marine life identified in the report include rapidly warming and acidifying oceans, changes in water circulation and expansion of dead zones within the ocean depths.
These are driving major changes in marine ecosystems: less abundant coral reefs, sea grasses and mangroves (important fish nurseries); fewer, smaller fish; a breakdown in food chains; changes in the distribution of marine life; and more frequent diseases and pests among marine organisms.
Study co-author John F. Bruno, associate professor in marine science at The University of North Carolina, says greenhouse gas emissions are modifying many physical and geochemical aspects of the planet's oceans, in ways 'unprecedented in nearly a million years'.
'This is causing fundamental and comprehensive changes to the way marine ecosystems function,' Bruno warned, according to a GCI release.

These findings were published in Science.

How do we start to own a home

THIS BLOB HAS BEEN CREATED TO INVITE MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC WHO ARE WILLING AND ABLE TO TAKE PART IN USEFUL DISCUSSIONS, WHICH COULD HELP COMPARE THE OLD WAYS OF LIVING TO THE NEW WAYS, IN THE HOPE OF SOLVING SOME OF THE MAN MADE PROBLEMS.

How do we start to own a home

YOU ARE INVITED!
You are invited to browse and take part in the discussions that follow.

So, if you have a job start saving some money, each time you get paid do not spend it all, just deposit whatever amount you can in a bank deposit, you will see that as the time goes by it will grow.
Ask some expert about how much money you need for a deposit before you get involved in buying your place. It is better to start with a small house, so that you may be able to afford repayments of your loan.
Every able person should try to buy their own house, it is worth the effort.

This post has been added later on. It is still about owning a home and I think in makes sense hereunder.

TODAY

"Today's decision is a further step in that process."

Mr Stevens said credit for housing had been expanding at a solid pace.

"New loan approvals for housing have moderated over recent months as interest rates have risen and the impact of large grants to first-home buyers has tailed off," he said.

"Nonetheless, at this point the market for established dwellings is still characterised by considerable buoyancy, with prices continuing to increase in the early part of 2010."

The 25-basis point rise in interest rates, if passed on in full by the banks, will add about $48 a month to a $300,000 mortgage on a 25-year term.

The National Australia Bank had already committed, before the Reserve Bank's meeting, to raising its standard variable mortgage rate by no more than the Reserve Bank's change.

If it passes on the full Reserve Bank increase, its standard variable mortgage rate will rise from 6.74 to 6.99 per cent per annum.

The question today is, how many of us have already missed out, and therefore may never be able to afford to own a home?

World natural disaster

THIS BLOB HAS BEEN CREATED TO INVITE MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC WHO ARE WILLING AND ABLE TO TAKE PART IN USEFUL DISCUSSIONS, WHICH COULD HELP COMPARE THE OLD WAYS OF LIVING TO THE NEW WAYS, IN THE HOPE OF SOLVING SOME OF THE MAN MADE PROBLEMS.

WORLD NATURAL DISASTER

YOUARE INVITED!
You are invited to browse and comment.

Hello everybody!

This is Frank@yahoo writing a post for my friend Manfraco.

In this post Manfraco would like that I start telling you about this story of an old man, who in his old age he never passes the chance to tell you about when he was young; he has written his own life story, and now that he is old he would like to publish it. In his story he likes to compare the ways of his younger life to nowadays living, how can he do it I do not know? Because, as you all know nowadays living is completely different from the time when he was young.

However today may not be the best day to start this comparison, as there is so many other important news that everybody is interested in. So, I may as well go with the main stream and talk about nowadays, World natural disaster. This is what is in the news report:

(PORT-AU-PRINCE (Reuters) - Witnessing Haiti's earthquake aftermath from street level is horrific -- dead bodies poking out of collapsed buildings, bandaged survivors whimpering in tent cities and the stench of rot and dead.
But seeing it from the sky is when the enormity of the disaster that hit the Western hemisphere's poorest nation last Tuesday really sinks in.
Viewed from a U.S. army helicopter flight, large areas of Port-au-Prince are reduced to rubble. Entire shanty towns have slid down hillsides. Swathes of rusty iron roofs look as if they have been sprinkled with debris by a giant hand.
Life in the wrecked city is concentrated in brightly colored patchwork spots where tens of thousands have set up makeshift camps in open spaces as aftershocks frighten people away from the buildings that are still standing.
From above, the cathedral looks like it has been stepped on. The gleaming white presidential palace looks like an iced wedding cake that has been dropped on the floor. Multistory car parks and supermarkets have been leveled like concertinas.
Cinder block houses are so crumpled it seems they must have been built of clay.
Health Minister Alex Larsen told Reuters on Friday that three-quarters of Port-au-Prince will have to be rebuilt. Even in a country less miserably poor and ill-equipped than Haiti, it's hard to see where you would even start.
It has taken three days for the first foreign rescue teams to hit the ground and the first water trucks to do the rounds.
Disaster relief personnel arriving at the airport on Friday admitted it may still be days before they can reach hungry and injured victims with the food and medicine they desperately need.
The government's estimated death toll of up to 200,000 people would put Tuesday's earthquake among the 10 worst in recorded history, and it has happened in one of the poorest and volatile countries in the world.
Looting and fighting over food began on Friday on streets where no police are in sight and there is no sign of government control, let alone any sign of a recovery plan.
"These are bad times the country is living. Who knows what's ahead?" said Antonio Elias, 47, who is leaving his business and flying to his native Venezuela with his Haitian wife and baby.
"It's not easy to leave everything behind. Who knows when we'll come back. But I'm not taking the risk of staying here.")

This is the world disaster of modern times, we cannot help to be sorry and concerned for the Haitian that have survived; the only thing that helps and gives some hope is that most nations are going to help. So, may God help those that are in need of help!

So, if I haven’t written anything about the story of this old man I hope you understand the reason why; I will have to start telling you that story next time.

A NEW SUBJECT

This blog is being changed now to a different subject, this subject will talk about people and their everyday problems, here we want to discuss all sorts of public articles; from the time when people are born to when we die and beyond, anybody that is interested to take part in these discussions can do so in one way or another.
In this blog post we want to yell you a story of a man from his early youth to nowadays, we want to do this, so that we may be able to compare today ways of life to the old ways of life, in the hope of finding something that may help us understand better what is happening nowadays. We are going to tell you a story of this old man, who started to live his life before major changes occurred.
We would like to do this just to compare the old ways of living to nowadays living.
Can you just imagine how people lived 60 years ago?
So, let us follow this old man story when he talks about when I was young; then we may compare that to the present nowadays problems.
This old man story was written from a friend of mine and never published. My friend the writer has agreed to let me use his story here to help me with my writing. Now, since I have the rights to use this old man story, I am going to use this story here, in order to compare the way we used to live those days to nowadays living. I hope it works out well.
People these days have a lot more challenges to cope with, as the ways of life change very quickly, this is one of the reasons that sometimes old people seem out of touch with the young generation. It is the sign of the present times and we are not able to do much to improve the situation between these generations, so, we have just to wait and see what happens next.
As we all know, today humanity is facing many problems and one of the most important is global warming, which if we don’t do something about it soon it may indeed change the face of the earth forever. This subject is going to be discussed also within these posts later on.
Now let us try to write down this old man story, who talks about, when I was young!

TO BE CONTINUED;
Next time we start the story of this old man.
